The Academy for Youth Empowerment (AFYE) is proud to announce the return of a beloved city tradition, the 29th Annual Memphis Christmas Parade in Whitehaven. This year’s celebration, themed “Celebrating the Gifts of Memphis,” will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
The parade will kick off at the intersection of Shelby Drive and Elvis Presley Boulevard, traveling through the heart of Whitehaven and concluding at Elvis Presley Blvd. and Laudeen Drive. The community is invited to line the route for a morning of festive floats, marching bands, vibrant performances, and special appearances, all celebrating the unique spirit and talent of Memphis.
Founded by Whitehaven Mayor Hazel Moore, AFYE is a city-wide organization dedicated to empowering the youth of Memphis through leadership and civic engagement. Hosting this major community event provides a real-world platform for its students to learn, lead, and contribute to a cherished Memphis tradition.
“The Memphis Christmas Parade is more than just a event; it’s a celebration of our community’s strength, joy, and the incredible gifts of our people,” said Hazel Moore, Founder of AFYE and Mayor of Whitehaven. “We are thrilled to bring this tradition to life and to showcase the next generation of leaders who are helping to make it all happen.”
The weekend of celebration continues on Sunday, November 23rd, at 4:00 PM with the “Songs of the Season” Concert. This musical event will be held at Abundant Grace Fellowship Church, located at 1574 E. Shelby Drive, Memphis, TN 38116. It promises to be an uplifting experience for the whole family.
The Academy for Youth Empowerment invites youth participants, volunteers, and community sponsors from across Memphis to join in making this 29th anniversary parade the most memorable one yet.
